Job Description
Here at Ensus we are currently recruiting a Process Safety Engineer to join the team at our single site in Wilton, Redcar. This is a rare and exciting opportunity as you will be joining a business on a substantial growth plan and investments of £100m planned to be complete by 2026.
We are looking for a proactive team player that has an eye for detail. The role will report in to our SHE Manager but have a dotted line to the Senior Process Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain the Seveso / COMAH report and issue updates to the regulator as required.
* Manage, facilitate, and participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) for new projects and maintain a revalidation plan for existing PHA studies using recognised methodologies (HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, PSSR, SIL assessment etc).
* Ensure Human Factors are considered during risk reviews and when reviewing Management of Change associated with projects.
* Where approved consultants have been used to lead a hazard study, manage the process for review and acceptance of the report and distribution and closure of any recommendations.
* Develop site specific procedures with an agreed methodology for assessing “process safety” related risk, the procedures will form part of the Process Safety Management system.
* Carry out internal audits on the process safety management procedures (including management of P&ID’s) and highlight areas of compliance / non-compliance.
* Participate in the annual review of the Work Area Risk Assessment and Legal Register, ensuring changes required by legislation or as a result of changes in site practices are recorded and appropriate measures to manage the change are captured.
* Support SHE Manager and site team in “process incident” investigation and root cause analysis.
Skills, Qualifications, Competence Level
* Degree in Chemical Engineering.
* Ideally minimum of 2-5 years’ experience
* Analytical and problem solving skills
* Maintaining effective and positive relationships with colleagues
* Experience in chemical industry/top tier COMAH sites preferred
* Ideally experience in facilitating of Process Hazard Analysis methodologies such as HAZOP, HAZ-ID, LOPA, etc.
* Ideally knowledge of regulatory requirements associated with technical SHE requirements
