Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting a growing Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company with the appointment of a Civil & Structural Engineer to support with onshore energy projects. This company has recently secured major long-term projects in the onshore energy sector and the ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and overseeing Civil & Structural activities and studies, contribute towards technical bid evaluations and provide technical consultancy to clients on projects relating to civil and structural issues.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Support Engineering Management, project teams and planners internally with Civil and Structural related enquiries during the project lifecycle.
2. Check and engineer all civil and structural design work in line with quality assurance, appropriate codes of practice and the clients procedures.
3. Provide civil and structural engineering for detailed designs.
4. Liaison with client discipline representatives to establish technical direction where not provided by codes and standards.
5. Provide expertise and advise on installation methodology & safe engineering practices, including LOLER requirements.
6. Identify and validate improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
7. Provide timely progress updates to Engineering management and project planners.
8. Work closely within the project team to provide advice and support with regards to civil and structural aspects of the projects.
9. Ensure all installation schemes are designed to be carried out in a safe manner.
Requirements:
1. Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or similar discipline.
2. Extensive industry experience working within the oil & gas/energy sectors within a civil and structural engineering role.
3. Conversant with codes of practice, standards and other relevant sections of statutory documentation.
4. Have experience in both structural and civil engineering.
5. Experience carrying out detailed civil and structural engineering for onshore waste to energy facilities (advantageous).
6. Obtain Chartership Status (Advantageous).
