Job overview
King's Academy Prospect is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative teacher of Science who will motivate and encourage our students to realise their full potential. You will demonstrate the skills, expertise and passion to inspire and encourage students.
Our school was rated 'Good' recently (October 2022) by Ofsted in all areas and 'Outstanding' for Leadership and Management.
We are a progressive and vibrant school that focuses on raising the aspirations and releasing the potential of every young person in our care. We are a successful 11-18 school with a strong focus on learning and supporting our students.
Our student body is diverse, exciting and talented - and the same is true of our staff. We put huge emphasis on professional development, most of it in-house and through the King's Group Academies Trust, and are proud of the high number of good and outstanding teachers.
We are also noted for our 'can do' attitude and as you would expect, we are looking for the best. A good honours degree and qualified teacher status are essential. You will be able to demonstrate unwavering commitment to raising student progress and standards and like us, you believe that social disadvantage is no barrier to achievement and that every student can share in the joy of education. Most importantly, you will possess integrity, good humour and moral purpose.
A specialism in Biology is preferred, with the ability to teach Physics and Chemistry to GCSE. However, all Science specialisms will be considered.
We can offer you:
* The opportunity to join a very successful team of committed and highly qualified teachers.
* A supportive environment where the work-life balance of teachers is important.
* Outstanding facilities and resources to support teaching and learning.
* An annual Wellbeing Day, which you choose.
* Long service days.
* Flexible working.
* A supportive and experienced Senior Leadership Team.
* An opportunity to develop through an extensive CPD offer, such as a comprehensive ECT induction program, the DfE’s Accelerate programme which is tailor-made for those in the first five years of their teaching career.
* Middle Leadership development programme which includes opportunities to access NPQs, Teaching Leaders and Future Leaders.
* A bespoke induction and training programme with built-in support and mentoring.
* To be part of King's Academy Prospect at its most pivotal and exciting time.
Interviews may be held before the closing date, and we reserve the right to close the vacancy if a suitable applicant has been found.

Welcome to King’s Academy Prospect. We are a large, diverse and inclusive school, rightly proud of our students, whom we welcome from a wide range of backgrounds. We enable all our students, whatever their ability, background or heritage, to make excellent progress and achieve more than they believe to be possible. Our core values of ‘Aspire, Believe, Achieve’ are at the heart of everything we do, preparing our young people to be successful, fulfilled and great assets to their community in whatever they choose to do in the future.
We value educational excellence very highly and strive to ensure that we recruit the very best teachers to enable our students to progress onto the next stage of their educational journeys. We want our students to become young adults who understand the importance of respect and responsibility and who want to make a positive contribution to their school and the wider community. Equally important is our students' social and emotional wellbeing. We provide a supportive and nurturing environment, with a wide range of extracurricular activities, school trips and experiences to broaden their horizons. We work closely with our local community and enjoy mutually supportive relationships with students and their parents, as well as with our neighbours and wider networks.
We are extremely proud of our fantastic site - one of the largest sites in Berkshire - with its excellent facilities and well-resourced, specialist classrooms. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, allowing students to follow individual pathways that best meet their needs, whether academic, vocational or a mix of both. However, don’t just take our word for it! We’re on a really exciting journey at the moment and we want you to be a part of it. Come and meet us, our students and our teachers to see the great opportunities that await you, we are always happy to offer tours in advance of applications.
