Position: Settlement Navigator – Hindi/Punjabi Location: White Rock/South Surrey as the primary office base, with program outreach extending to the communities of Langley, Surrey, and White Rock. Hours: 21 hours/week [Monday to Friday]. Some evening and weekend work is required. Salary: $26.78/hour Start Date: April 1 ,2025 We are looking for a Settlement Navigator – Hindi/Punjabi to join our Community and Volunteer Services Program team Ideally, this individual must provide essential support to Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) in Surrey, White Rock, Langley, and surrounding areas. This role involves direct engagement with TFWs to help them understand their rights, navigate essential services, and integrate into the community. A Class 5 Drivers License is required and experience working with Temporary Foreign Workers is ideal. Description of Position: Reporting to: Manager of Community and Volunteer Services Program General Responsibilities: Ensures health and safety of all clients in course of working with them. Adheres to relevant Council on Accreditation standards. Adheres to Sources policies and procedures and the Code of Ethics. Participates in Sources’ internal committees, as assigned. Ensures rights and dignity of clients is maintained. Maintains privacy and confidentiality of clients and client files. Completes and keeps up to date, all required trainings offered by Sources, including but not limited to, health and safety, cultural safety, diversity and inclusion, and any program specific trainings. Engage in ongoing learning and professional development related to Indigenous histories, cultures and perspectives and applying this knowledge to your work. Creating and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment within the organization, and addressing any instances of discrimination, harassment, or other forms of harmful behaviour that don’t support the principals of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belongingness. Maintain First Aid and CPR training equivalent to WCB Level One if/when required. Maintain a valid a valid BC driver’s license (Class 5). Program-specific Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategies to identify and engage Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) in need of support. Coordinate with community partners, employers, and advocacy groups to enhance program reach and effectiveness. Facilitate access to healthcare, legal aid, housing, and financial services for TFWs through partnerships and referrals. Track program metrics, collect participant feedback, and prepare reports to assess impact and areas for improvement. Assist in crisis intervention and emergency support by connecting TFWs with appropriate resources. Ensure that outreach materials and workshops are tailored to meet the linguistic and cultural needs of TFWs. Advocate for TFWs’ rights and well-being by staying informed about relevant policies and legislative changes. Conduct strength-based need assessments to find each person’s skills, interests, employment history, career goals, and their families’ settlement needs. Work with clients to develop and implement settlement plans. Assist clients in accessing appropriate programs and services for which they are eligible and ensure successful linking to these services. Detect issues such as depression, family violence, substance abuse, employer abuse, and intergenerational conflicts through early identification of warning signs and refer clients to the appropriate support services. Identify potential and actual risks and barriers encountered by the client and/or their family to access programs and work with the client to find solutions and support. Plan, develop, and facilitate group orientation workshop sessions. Develop and maintain a network of appropriate contacts with external service providers to support and follow up on client referrals based on needs and eligibility of client group. Maintain client files, prepare reports, and compile statistics. Conduct program promotion to community services, media sources, and internal marketing. Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of relevant community resources, programs, and services. Understanding of poverty-related issues and ability to handle sensitive client concerns with tact and non-judgment. Knowledge of federal and provincial immigration programs, including work permit applications. Ability to provide support in cases of workplace safety concerns, employment standards violations, and other legal matters relevant to the target population. Ability to promote and implement education and support group services. Fluency in English and a language relevant to the population served. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Effective networking abilities, including presenting information to multi-cultural groups, employers, and individuals in one-on-one settings. Ability to maintain open and direct communication with clients and volunteers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other data management systems. Demonstrated ability to use online communication platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to take initiative, prioritize urgent tasks, and work independently. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments. Ability to handle potentially difficult and stressful situations with proven crisis resolution skills. Proven ability to work effectively with culturally diverse community members and service partners. Qualifications: Diploma and/or equivalent proven experience in a related field. Experience working with Temporary Foreign Workers, newcomers, or vulnerable populations. Experience in case management, outreach, and delivering educational workshops. Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and driver's abstract. Criminal Records Check. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (provided through Sources if required).
