Reporting into the Operations Director, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for management of all procurement, warehouse & inventory control activity at the Cumbernauld site.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Forecasting, Material Planning, Supplier Management and Procurement
1. Forecast future material needs based on inputs from historic demand, established financial targets and S&OP process.
2. Ensure accuracy of MRP parameters to allow for timely procurement of materials requirements.
3. Day-to-day management of purchasing activity to ensure availability of material to implement existing production plans.
4. Ensure that the procurement team action MRP messages in an accurate and timely manner.
5. Lead a defined list of qualified suppliers across a wide range of categories and industries.
6. Develop positive relationships with strategic supply partners.
7. Create processes for risk management and mitigation in procurement activity.
8. Drive cost saving activity in procurement of existing materials.
9. Establish suppliers of new materials to support ongoing NPI activity.
Management of Team:
1. Mentor and motivate team members, ensuring maximum collaboration and partnership.
2. In collaboration with the HR department, recruiting, promotion, performance management, education, development and succession planning of team members.
3. Ensure that all direct reports are up to date with all mandatory required trainings.
4. Drive the team to apply JDE software for leading planning, scheduling, and buying.
5. Lead the PDP process for the team.
6. Management of the Cumbernauld warehouse and stores teams.
POR / S&OP:
1. Participate in establishing POR targets and reporting on achievement against established targets.
2. Participate in S&OP to ensure material requirements are understood for current and future demand.
3. Load and maintain the production schedule, aligned with build requirements and POR targets.
4. Facilitate and maintain work order records from initial creation to complete order shipment. Ensure WO structure integrity, start and end dates are maintained in the MRP system with WO accuracy aligned with Customer sales order.
5. Review monthly shipment targets aligning Customer promise date service levels (PDSL).
Inventory Management:
1. Support site inventory management through application of inventory management techniques and provide reports to Senior Management.
2. Ensure accurate and on time replenishment of materials to forecasted and actual demand. You will also facilitate laser management through call off, receipt and allocation of lasers.
Continuous Improvement:
1. Lead change and improvement for procurement activities, including Kaizen events and spot problem solving.
2. Drive a culture of continuous improvement in the organization and effectively handle key performance metrics.

1. Significant prior experience of leading procurement activity within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
2. Experience of managing a team of procurement professionals.
3. Excellent planning and analytical skills.
4. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Packages.
