TEACHING ASSISTANT POSITION IN A MAINSTREAM SECONDARY SCHOOL IN COVENTRY

Teaching Personnel work closely with a vastly improving secondary school in Coventry and have been asked to recruit a passionate specialist teaching assistant to work closely with our most vulnerable pupils. The pupils' needs vary from low level special educational needs, autism, ADHD to more moderate SEMH needs and learning disabilities. The successful candidate will also be a welcome addition to the classroom to support the main class teacher with supporting all pupils, assisting with the smooth running of the classroom.
Start date: ASAP (January 2025)
Pay Rate: £84-95 (dependent upon experience. Negotiable for the right person with excellent previous experience)
Hours: Full Time (Mon- Fri 8:30-3:15)
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working as a teaching assistant/learning support assistant
- Relevant Teaching Assistant Qualifications (L1/L2/L3)
- Previous experience working with/supporting children with special educational needs
- Awareness of various learning needs within a classroom and how to get the best outcomes for these children
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and how to escalate concerns
- Caring and positive attitude with an approachable demeanour
Your Roles/Responsibilities:
- Support pupils' learning and development under the direction of main class teacher and senior staff members
- Provide specialist 1:1 and small group support to enhance pupil progress
- Communicate effectively with staff, pupils and parents
- Manage own workload and be proactive
- Help with classroom management and the smooth running of the classroom
- Help organise lesson materials and be organised and prepared efficiently for each day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
