FINTEC is recruiting for a Project Manager for ship repair projects. This is a permanent role, salary commensurate with experience plus benefits. Working 39 hours per week Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., finishing 2:30 p.m. on Fridays. Overtime available, paid at enhanced rates.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage ship repair projects.
2. Drive productivity and efficiency, coordinating all production to execute work specifications.
3. Optimise resourcing levels, monitor performance and outputs, and be commercially aware.
4. Interpret technical specifications, identifying variations to specifications and align costs for approval.
5. Manage all subcontractor, labour, consumable and material costs, accountable for project P&L.
6. Conduct regular inspections of work areas, identifying and eliminating any hazardous conditions or practices.
7. Be aware of company accreditations, ensuring work is carried out with OH&S Management systems.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Strong leader, highly organised, with the ability to motivate and engage with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
2. Good working knowledge of ship repair and/or heavy engineering.
3. Experience in preparing detailed variation costs for customer submission.
4. Experience in evaluating sub-contractors and supplier quotations.
5. Able to chair project progress meetings and other meetings as required.
6. Must be able to understand and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
