An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a new Project Officer in the Strategic Development Team, part of the Growth, Environment, Transport and Health Directorate. We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to strengthen our capacity. Location - Preston, Lancashire.
We are currently working with greater flexibility and have a blended approach with attendance at an office base and working from home.
You would have a pivotal role in the team using your extensive project management skills to deliver an extensive range of innovative, economic growth, development projects, alongside strategic employment sites and major transport and highway interventions.
Project Officer
As a key part of our economic plans and strategies, Lancashire has a hugely ambitious investment pipeline of more than £20 billion supporting the long-term delivery of strategic employment sites, transport, and digital infrastructure, ensuring residents can access and benefit from the opportunities brought about by investment, economic growth and the productive businesses here in Lancashire.
Our key work programme focuses upon Major Developments, Strategic Transport and Infrastructure programmes and significant projects that will shape and transform the county's identity for many years to come.
We’re supporting and/or delivering a range of major and digital infrastructure projects, local town and city regeneration plans, four enterprise zones and the National Cyber Force's future location in Lancashire.
We’re currently on site delivering the internationally significant Samlesbury Enterprise Zone and the new Farington Cricket Facility, which will become the second home to Lancashire Cricket.
We'll also be delivering the Lancashire Central mixed-use site and enabling the Eden Project Morecambe project amongst many others.
As part of a broader organisational approach, the team is also delivering major programmes such as the Lancashire Economic Growth, Development Investment fund, the Infrastructure Plan and where relevant other sources of financial support to assist a range of other immediate and pipeline activity across the county. Our activity is facilitated by feasibility studies, masterplans, funding bids and planning to aid strategic activity.
What we are looking for:
A Project Officer with significant level of experience of delivering Growth, Regeneration and Commercial projects within a public and/or private sector setting as part of multi-disciplinary project teams, on a broad range of Growth and Regeneration programmes and projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the development and delivery of the county council's strategic economic development priorities.
* Undertake specialised technical and analytical support activities to assist professional colleagues in delivering complex services.
* Attend, in a supporting capacity, relevant committees, boards, technical and commercial groups and partnerships.
