Job Description:
A fantastic job opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to work in an exceptional psychiatric inpatient service based in the Exeter, Devon area. You will be working for one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers.
The service is a purpose-built facility, providing specialist care for adults with acute mental health needs.
To be considered for this position you must hold a Full GMC Registration.
As the Consultant Psychiatrist, your key responsibilities include:
1. Liaison and collaborative working with care coordinators, commissioners, families and carers, and other services/agencies.
2. Mental Health Act implementation and liaison with the Ministry of Justice (if applicable).
3. Multi-disciplinary, multi-agency, and partnership working.
4. Undertaking the administrative duties associated with the care of patients, including ensuring all NHSE contractual obligations are met and ensuring initial discharge summaries are sent out within 24 hours of discharge.
5. Maintaining professional registration with the General Medical Council and abiding by professional codes of conduct.
6. Maintaining section 12(2) and approved clinician status.
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
1. Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients.
2. To hold Section 12(2) approval to work in England and Approved clinician status.
3. Experience in General Adult settings and experience of working in a multidisciplinary team.
4. Experience of working within acute inpatient or community settings, ideally inpatient settings, and experience in risk assessment and risk management.
