The role
As a Principal BIM and Digital Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will support Major Infrastructure Projects (MIP) in terms of information management, BIM, and digital delivery.
Day-to-day, you’ll be accountable to the Principal BIM and Digital Engineer Lead and support the BIM lead.
1. Contribute to the strategy and implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in support of Nuclear and Non-Nuclear Safety related facilities for the Major Infrastructure Projects programme.
2. Provide BIM support within the core engineering team.
3. Provide support and leadership to projects and ensuring consistency in the way MIP and the wider DRDL delivers BIM.
This role is full time, 36 hour per week and requires regular travel to Devonport, Plymouth on a monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential experience of the Principal BIM and Digital Engineer
4. Must have a Design and Construction experience background i.e., civil, structural, architectural and MEP or similar.
5. Should have knowledge of ISO standards.
6. Should have significant design and construction experience.
7. Must be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills required in the process of BIM throughout the design and construction lifecycle.
Qualifications for the Principal BIM and Digital Engineer
8. Must have a minimum HNC, degree or diploma.
9. The candidate shall hold professional chartership with a recognised industry institute.
