The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee the commercial aspects of high-value construction projects, ensuring their successful delivery.
Specifically, you will provide pre-contract advice on project costs and budgets during the initial stages, oversee project estimation and procurement, and ensure resources are secured efficiently.
You will create control documents, conduct monthly cost and value reconciliation, and compile interim applications for main and subcontract agreements.
Additionally, you will:
- Manage, develop, and mentor junior members of the commercial team.
- Offer programme advice and liaise with subcontractors on start dates.
- Work collaboratively with clients' and subcontractors surveyors.
- Compile and execute subcontract orders.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and agree on final accounts.
About You
To be considered as a Quantity Surveyor, you will need:
- Ideally, over 3 years experience working in high-end residential.
- A proven track record of delivering high-calibre construction projects successfully.
- Experience liaising with project teams, designers, clients, and other parties to ensure project success.
- Experience managing commercial aspects of projects while achieving tight deadlines.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior team members.
- A degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline or a strong trade background.
Other organisations may refer to this role as Senior Quantity Surveyor, Senior Construction Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, or Senior Construction Quantity Surveying.
