Job Opportunity: Control Room Technician (12-Month Contract) Location : Redcar, UK
Project : Teesside CCGT Project
Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Control Room Technician (CRT) to support the Detailed Engineering phase of a major project, which includes an onshore UK Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) with Carbon Capture and a Transportation & Storage network for CO2.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing critical input to ensure the operability and maintainability of plant and process equipment. You will play a key role in supporting operational readiness for commissioning, start-up, and ongoing operations .
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the design phase by ensuring plant and equipment meet operational and maintenance requirements.
* Support operational readiness, ensuring smooth progression towards commissioning and start-up.
* Work closely with project teams and stakeholders to access relevant data and insights, ensuring successful project execution.
* Be flexible to work from home and travel to FEED contractor offices in the Southeast of England, as required.
Qualifications:
Essential:
* NVQ Level 3 in Process Operations or equivalent.
* Minimum 15+ years of industry experience, with 10+ years in a Control Room Technician role.
* Strong ability to collaborate across teams and access critical data within the organization.
* Self-motivated, able to work independently and in a diverse team.
Desired:
* Apprenticeship in the industry.
* HNC in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
* Experience in project or operational roles, particularly in Power Stations, CO2 Capture Plants, or similar chemical processes.
* Familiarity with onshore/offshore pipe networks and regulatory frameworks such as COMAH or Seveso Directives.
