As part of our 19 strong Maintenance Team you will be working in all areas of the company, carrying out servicing and repairs to machines and equipment ranging from sophisticated CNC through to re wiring of office accommodation and building panels for specific tasks.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Job purpose:
To learn how to undertake electrical repairs, including fault finding / diagnostics, to plant, equipment and services at Moores. Assist with the modification of existing and installation of new plant and equipment.
Duties and responsibilities:
* To work under guidance and supervision of qualified and experienced trades persons.
* To complete the required academic and practical training requirements of the apprenticeship to achieve a level 3 qualification.
* To take responsibility for their own progression and ensure their mentor is fully aware of academic and practical milestones that need to be achieved.
* To gain hands on experience of maintaining equipment and services, ensuring electrical safety and the correct functioning of equipment.
* Gain limited mechanical maintenance experience of equipment and services e.g. cylinder changes, chain/ sprocket replacement, belt replacement and bearing replacement.
* Enthusiasm to react to operational requirements for all departments and gain key skills and knowledge throughout the company.
* To ensure all work is carried out within Moores health, safety and environmental procedures and policies.
* To work on new installations, some designed and built in-house, gaining electrical expertise and knowledge of project type work.
* Fault finding / diagnostics on pieces of equipment.
* To gain experience of undertaking modifications to machinery, whilst ensuring electrical safety guidelines are adhered to.
* Manufacturing of new / replacement parts using fabrication, milling operations and lathe turning.
* Problem solving using manufacturers maintenance / operating manuals.
* Communicate with team members / internal colleagues as and when required.
Overall:
* Organise own work and learning to meet differing needs.
* Responsible for handling products and tools carefully.
* Ensuring work area is clean, tidy and safe.

* Five GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) including science and English with maths at Grade 5.

Other requirements
Will be required to climb fixed ladders frequently. Regular lifting is a requirement for this role however handling equipment and training is provided. The work can involve both internal and external work, including working at height on our silos and extraction or inside enclosed areas. The site is rural so you will need to ensure you have transport to and from the workplace (not accessible by public transport).
