About the Role:
We are seeking an inspirational and highly motivated Lead Practitioner of Maths to lead and develop our Maths department. The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven track record of raising attainment, a passion for mathematics, and a commitment to developing innovative teaching practices. You will have the vision and leadership skills to inspire colleagues and drive the department forward.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading and managing the Maths department, including curriculum development, assessment, and staff development
* Monitoring and evaluating the quality of teaching and learning in Maths
* Providing coaching and mentoring to colleagues in the Maths department
* Leading initiatives to raise attainment in Maths across the school
* Modelling outstanding teaching practice and sharing best practice with colleagues
* Contributing to the wider school improvement agenda
The Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* A strong academic background in Mathematics
* Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Maths
* Proven experience of successfully leading and managing a team
* A track record of raising attainment in Maths
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in teaching and learning
* A passion for the performing arts and an understanding of how Maths can contribute to students' creative development
