Our long established Engineering client, based in Daventry are looking to recruit an ongoing, temporary 'Quality Inspector'.
Quality Inspector Role:
You will be responsible for the 'Quality Management System' and inspection processes to ensure conforming products. Work closely with internal & external key stakeholders; manufacturing staff and customers regarding technical support of their activities.
You will also be responsible for all areas of the Quality function and provide support to production.
Quality Inspector responsibilities:
1. Verify the conformity of parts, assemblies and sub assemblies in line with Engineering drawings, the Quality Management System and any customer specific requirements
2. Identify and report non-conformances as per Company procedure and take an active role in root cause analysis, problem solving, containment and corrective action
3. Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements for external suppliers
4. Devise and establish the Company's quality procedures, standards and specifications
5. Ensure full compliance of the Company Quality system with the requirements of International standards and in line with customer approvals
6. Define quality procedures in conjunction with production leadership
7. Be the key point of contact with customers and take responsibility for resolving quality concerns
8. Monitor quality performance by gathering relevant data and produce statistical reports as required
9. Liaise with other managers and staff and provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards
10. Manage APQP and PPAP process
11. Document policies and procedures relating to quality functions
12. Support Production with the timely verification of first-offs, and batch inspections on a daily basis
13. Champion layered audit throughout the business
Quality Inspection Requirements:
1. Must have worked within a Quality Inspection role within the Engineering sector
2. Able to interpret and understand technical data including customer drawings and specifications
3. Experience inspecting precision components ensuring adherence to drawing requirements
4. Extensive experience in a range of manufacturing techniques including, CNC milling & turning
5. Experience with a wide variety of direct inspection gauges and measuring equipment
6. Experience with PPAP submissions
7. Experience using CMM (Manual) and other quality measuring equipment
8. Automotive industry experience desirable
