We are now looking for a Senior Design Manager to join our Buildings team to manage the design process and design team on a project, from enquiry through to submission of the bid, PCSA stage and the ongoing management of all design related issues through to project completion and handover.
You’ll:
1. Assist in appointment of design team and management of design team contracts to cost, time, quality & safety requirements.
2. Manage the creation of the project design management plan and ensure all members of the design team are aware of their responsibilities
3. Manage the production and co-ordination of the design programme, Employers Requirements and design deliverables schedule throughout the project
4. Manage the delivery of design in accordance with the design management plan and design brief, including client requirements, cost, programme, best practice design standards, design responsibilities, BIM strategy and contract agreement.
5. Ensure that all responsibilities under CDM regulations are maintained by the project and design teams
6. Lead buildability and value engineering reviews
7. Ensure BIM Execution Plan & CAD protocol are maintained
We’re looking for:
8. Demonstrable experience of delivering MOD/DIO projects working through bid, PCSA and delivery stages, and successfully converting and delivering on quality, time and to budget.
9. Clear understanding of and demonstrable experience of working with the MOD/DIO, including a working knowledge of defence JSP standards.
10. Demonstrable experience of varied forms of contract including NEC3 & 4, MPTC and JCT.
11. Knowledge and experience of managing design and working within a secure UK environment.
12. Extensive experience of design delivery – building, civil engineering & MEP installations
13. Experience in delivering design across whole project lifecycle (bidding, pre-construction and construction phases)
14. Experienced in use of digital technologies to deliver design (e.g. CDE, BIM and design co-ordination software) and experience of delivering to the ISO19650 Information Management standard.
