We are recruiting for new Baristas / FOH servers to join our coffee shop teams both at Leeds Dock and at our takeaway kiosk on Sovereign St. As advocates and representatives of our overall brand, these roles are of great importance to our business which encompasses a wholesale coffee customer base (supplying hundreds of coffee shops nationally), an online shop retailing directly to the consumer alongside our soon to launch coffee training offering. We can offer a great platform for those aspiring to kickstart/progress their career in hospitality and in coffee. You will access world class training, get to have a glimpse into the art of coffee roasting alongside working with some of the best coffees in the world. You must be warm, hospitable and considerate to the needs of both your team and our valued customers. Previous practical specialty coffee experience would be very welcome but is not a necessity, we will provide training. We are occasionally very busy particularly at weekends and in school holidays and so keeping a cool head under pressure is a must Requirements Preparing both espresso based drinks and filter brews to our exacting standards. Maintain quality control of coffee throughout the day to ensure an outstanding cup and customer experience every time, detailed product knowledge of every coffee served is a must. Deliver the North Star experience by engaging, developing and maintaining relationships with all visitors to our space in an approachable and personable manner. Maintain impeccable standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the café, including the toilets Till service to be provided with a warm and friendly approach. Cake service and basic food preparation with impeccable presentation. Confidently assisting customers with detailing products in the General Store. You should: Be committed to the principles of quality and ethics in coffee. Be enthusiastic about seasonality, traceability and provenance. Enjoy working as part of a team. Be flexible with your ideas and previous experience in coffee, be open minded and willing to learn. Be confident and engaging when interacting with customers. Have outstanding attention to detail Be accountable, self-disciplined, self-aware and responsible. Have great communication skills and be able to listen and receive feedback effectively. Ideal but not necessary: Be comfortable with dialling in coffee to a precise recipe and be competent with milk steaming and latte art skills. Be able to manage coffee quality and work in a fast paced environment, coping with pressure.
