Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Foetal Imaging

We are looking to appoint to a part time Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Foetal Imaging within the Medical Imaging and Medical Physics Directorate of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Royal Hallamshire and Northern General Hospitals.
We would welcome applications from candidates across the full spectrum of experience, from those who have recently completed training to those who have well-established careers.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide subspecialty fetal and maternal MRI reporting services, including fetal anomaly and anatomy imaging; placental imaging, including assessment of abnormally invasive placenta (AIP) diagnosis and extent, (placenta accreta spectrum); reporting of external imaging as part of a specialist feto-maternal/placental imaging service; and neonatal imaging in conjunction with the paediatric neonatal imaging service.
The successful candidate will be able to provide imaging support for genetic, fetal and neonatal MDTs, and the candidate should be able to report fetal and neonatal postmortem imaging.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full registration (with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC).
* Name on the specialist register for radiology specialty or eligible within 6 months of the date of the interview. If an applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
* FRCR or equivalent
* Postgraduate professional qualifications as appropriate to post.
* Basic Medical Degree.
* MD or PhD or equivalent
Continuous Professional Development
* Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months
* Track record of foeto-maternal research, publications and presentations.
* Maintenance of a CPD diary or portfolio
Clinical experience
* Ability to work as an independent practitioner having completed a minimum of 5 years training in general clinical radiology.
* Minimum of 18 months of completed experience in an RCR approved foetal Imaging training post (at the time of the interview).
* Evidence of experience of working as part of a multi-professional team.
* Ability to undertake a broad range of Foetal Imaging investigations.
* Ability to report on placental anomaly MRI and Placenta accreta spectrum.
* Foetal and neonatal post mortal MRI imaging.
* Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate.
* Basic understanding of research methods and statistics.
Teaching and training
* Experience of teaching medical students and resident doctors.
Management and Administration
* Knowledge of fundamental issues in radiology departments e.g. IRMER, risk management, QA.
* Evidence of the understanding of the systems and structures of NHS Management
* Attendance at a management course relevant to Radiology
* Experience of working with management groups.
Clinical governance and audit
* Experience in performing clinical audit
* Completion and publication of a substantive audit project or service improvement project
Personal attributes
* Demonstrates behaviour consistent with PROUD values (see below)
* Good oral and written communication skills
* The applicant must demonstrate skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking the English language that enables effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues as set out in the GMC' good medical practice (2013).
Research
* Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate
* Understanding the principles of research and interpretation of research findings
* Publications in Peer reviewed journals.
* Previous oral presentations at national and international conferences
