Position: SCADA Manager Location: South West (hybrid working) Salary: £70,000 – £85,000 Position Overview A leading renewable energy organisation is seeking an accomplished SCADA Manager to oversee and guide all SCADA-related technical design activities. This role involves managing every stage of SCADA projects—from initial tendering through to commissioning—ensuring best practices, consistency, and on-time delivery. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams, sub-contractors, and other stakeholders to guarantee the successful implementation of SCADA systems in alignment with company objectives. Key Responsibilities Act as the main authority on SCADA design, providing approvals and sign-offs for communication architecture, bills of materials, and equipment configuration. Create and maintain standardised templates, including RTU/HMI designs and signal lists. Oversee communication network designs, ensuring full compliance with relevant industry standards. Collaborate with protection and control teams to coordinate intelligent electronic device (IED) configuration. Provide expertise in cyber security measures for SCADA systems. Troubleshoot on-site issues to keep projects on schedule. Sign off on critical documentation and specifications related to SCADA aspects of contracts. Approve design risk assessments throughout each project. Authorise procurement of major components, ensuring alignment with technical standards. Mentor colleagues and review subcontractor outputs to maintain quality. Requirements Significant experience (ideally 10 years) in SCADA design, especially for large-scale substations (up to 132kV). Skilled in AutoCAD with a strong grasp of national and international engineering standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts. Sound knowledge of construction methods and design principles.
