Position: SEND Teaching Assistant
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long term
Rate: £90-110+ per day, dependent upon experience
Location: Headingley, Leeds area
Role Overview:
As an SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in the learning journey of students aged 5-18. Working closely with the teaching staff and the SENCO, you will provide targeted assistance and guidance to individuals and small groups, ensuring that their specific needs are met. You will contribute to the development and implementation of tailored learning plans, fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere within the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND and SEMH needs, assisting them in accessing the curriculum effectively.
2. Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to develop and implement personalised learning strategies that cater to individual requirements.
3. Promote positive behaviour management techniques, helping students to develop self-regulation skills and emotional resilience.
4. Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and engaging in learning activities.
