Job title Apprentice Surveyor - Valuation Start date September 2025 Job Location Birmingham (55 Colmore Row, B3 2AA) Salary £23,000 £1,000 sign on bonus Current Team Information The Birmingham Valuation team undertake valuations and property appraisals which are provided to leading commercial lenders, occupiers, investors, property companies, pension funds, Government departments and public corporations. We cover a wide variety of sectors such as office, industrial, retail and residential. About This Role Throughout this role you will be assisting the valuations team in the following ways: Formulating commercial and residential valuation reports for clients Undertaking detailed inspections of buildings, land or construction Following due diligence in providing advice to clients Providing professional advice and recommendations to clients relating to land, property or construction Managing client instructions from engagement to completion Sourcing both capital and rental comparable properties to aid valuation reports Forming relationships with local sales and rental agents Working Week Five full days in the office, working hours 9:00am to 5:30pm. One of these days each week will be dedicated to university led study whilst in the office. How You’ll Make An Impact Good communication and organisational skills are vital to succeed as an apprentice. You will need the ability to manage a varied workload when working with different members of the team. It is also important to feel confident when using your own initiative, and being passionate about delivering the best service possible for your team and clients. The successful candidate will have the following skills: Word and Excel capabilities Good written, presentation and numerical skills are essential Excellent communication skills Diligent and detail driven Able to work individually and as part of a team Punctual, reliable, keen and enthusiastic Thirst for knowledge and self-motivated GCSE English and Maths at Level 4 (Grade C) or above is a mandatory requirement and you may not apply if you are currently studying for or already have a degree. You will also need a minimum of 96 UCAS points. You must be eligible to live, work and remain in the UK, within 1 hour’s commute of the office you are applying to. A driving license is desirable but not essential. Training 5 year training programme (Level 6 Apprenticeship), which includes a part time undergraduate degree (4 years) and an APC training programme (2 years, enrolled at the beginning of your 3rd year at University) leading to become a Chartered Surveyor with an RICS qualification. On the job training is provided to ensure all the required knowledge and experience is obtained throughout the apprenticeship to qualify successfully.
