Our client, a respected Tier 2 regional contractor, is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Rugby. The contractor is renowned for delivering high-quality projects across various sectors, including educational, healthcare, commercial, residential, and leisure.
Job Overview:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the financial management of projects with values up to £20 million. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented professional to further their career with a dynamic and forward-thinking contractor.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for various projects.
* Manage the procurement process, including the preparation of tender documents and contract negotiations.
* Monitor project progress and control costs throughout the project lifecycle.
* Assess and value variations and changes to contracts.
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts.
* Conduct risk management and cost control activities.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within a Tier 2 regional contractor environment.
* Strong understanding of construction processes and principles.
* Excellent numeracy and financial management skills.
* Proficiency in cost estimation and budget management.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* NEC contract experience is desirable but not essential.
* Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
