EC&I Technician
CK Group are recruiting for an EC&I to join a chemical company within the waste management industry. This vacancy is based at their site in Sunderland and is a full time, permanent role offering a salary upto £38,000 per annum.

Location:
This role is located in Sunderland. The site is easily commutable from the surrounding areas via good road links.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. Ensure that all tasks performed are conducted to good Health, Safety and Environmental practices, paying particular attention to housekeeping and that all defects or issues are reported.
2. Participate in risk assessments ensuring that assessments in place are suitable, up to date and include everyday tasks and routines.
3. Aiming to achieve efficient and maximised operation of control equipment ensuring equipment is used safely as per instructions by suitably monitoring process parameters.
4. To assist E&I supervisor to ensure that electrical maintenance and construction schedules are managed, incorporating all required routines whilst minimising plant down time.
5. Suitable precautions are used to ensure all electrical work, process break-ins and isolations are communicated to the permit writer; this must include required cleaning or flushing if required and testing prior to starting work.
6. Managing the disposal of all Company waste arising’s, where applicable identify new disposal routes, which will be operated within Health Safety and Environmental Regulations, and that may offer advantages to the Company. Where such routes are in use, you are, with the assistance of the SHEQ Manager, to ensure that existing regulations and good practice regimes are being followed within these sites.
7. Ensure suitable standards are used for all installations in terms of legislation, best practice and company standards. If required, suitable testing and or calibrations are performed for all equipment / instrumentation prior to handover.
8. Analyse and interpret data in order to resolve breakdowns and problems around plant.
9. Report and provide timely feedback on activities, any handover faults, breakdowns or isolations, near misses or alarms through the E&I supervisor using appropriate handover reports.
10. Positively contribute to the engineering and production department performance objectives.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
11. Comprehensive range of electrical and instrumentation knowledge with suitable experience for both trouble shooting and installation work.
12. Qualifications in hazardous area working (CompEx) and ideally within the wiring regulations (17th edition).
13. Experience and knowledge gained working within top tier CoMAH regulations including corresponding environmental, health and safety legislative requirements are fundamental to this role.
14. A range of experience from various types of single term controllers to software packages or PLC logic would be an advantage.
