We are looking for an electrical supervisor/compliance manager to join our valued clients.
Targets and Objectives
As the Companies NICEIC Qualified supervisor, the role to ensure the company complies to current regulations set out by the IET from Contract(s) preconstruction through to practical completion.
Main Duties
1. Electrical Testing
Work with the companies Snr Production Manager(s) in deploying the companies' testers and subcontract testers to ensure we meet all our contractual obligations on time.
Carry out suitable witness testing and tester audits.
Manage the testers regarding recording all costs for defective installation work and issuing to project surveyors and issuing audits to snr production personnel regarding lessons learnt and any recommendations and training.
Manage the Project Document Controllers to ensure all NICEIC certificates are being posted correctly and on time.
2. Design
Assist project Teams in the review of all aspects of electrical designs and drawings regardless of our design responsibility be they full design or CDP elements prior to commencement and during the delivery of works.
Report any areas of non-compliance risk with proposed mitigation strategy to the project team and Operations Director.
Assist the Project Lead in ensuring the designs meet both the performance and employers' specification.
3. Periodic Inspections of Installations
Using I auditor carry out audits of our project installations in terms of Design Compliance, Regulations and Quality of install and issue with any necessary Improvement Notices to the Project Leads and Directors.
Recommend, Inspect and Sign off Benchmark Installation proposals.
Ensure our Project Test and Commission Trackers are suitable for the Project scope of works and maintained from conception through to handover along with any O&M Manuals and As Built Drawings.
4. Defect Period/PPM
When required to assist the companies service and maintenance teams with any aspects of our electrical installations in occupied buildings.
5. Staff Training
Mentor the companies' electrical apprentices via suitable periodic inspections and appraisals to ensure they are being exposed to learning all aspects of their trade towards becoming a beneficial qualified employee on completion of their apprenticeship.
Prepare and issue electrical technical bulletins to include all elements to current building regulations of electrical safety, compliance, technical advice, best practices and safe systems of work.
As considered necessary hold training workshops to explain the information issued on the bulletins for our Engineers, Project Managers, and Estimators.
Routine monitoring of our tester's performance and provide management support and recommendations as required.
6. Health & Safety
Ensure our H&S Manager is made aware of any key Electrical Risks on any contract by means of site tours or training as and when required.
7. Estimating
Assist our Electrical Estimators with any queries whilst ensuring they are made aware of all current regulations.
