We invite applications to work with us in one of the most exciting and innovative NHS Foundation Trusts in England, with a wealth of teaching, training, and management opportunities. This is a fixed term post designed to provide the experience and education necessary for Doctors to progress in Gastroenterology.
Main duties of the job
The position of Senior Clinical Fellow in Gastroenterology is a 6-month fixed term post as a Trust Doctor (IMT3+ equivalent) at Barnet Hospital, London. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic fellow who wishes to improve their knowledge in gastrointestinal and endoscopy while working in a dynamic, supportive, and productive team.
The post holder will provide care for inpatients under gastroenterology and provide advice and support to other medical teams caring for patients with gastrointestinal conditions within the hospital. There will also be the opportunity for endoscopy training and outpatient clinics.
This post is suitable for a trainee with IMT experience who wishes to gain more experience in Gastroenterology and would provide excellent preparation for a candidate considering an application for Gastroenterology specialty training. Although not a training post per se, the focus within our department is strongly on developing our junior doctors, and the post holder will be able to access similar educational opportunities within the hospital as our training registrars. There will be an opportunity to undertake educational, academic, or quality improvement projects while in post.
The post-holder will be supervised by the Gastroenterology clinical lead.
