2nd Line Support IT Coordinator
Glasgow Based Hybrid Working
£28K - £36K Per Annum DOE
My client is a leading cancer support charity that provides free information and services across the UK and online. They are seeking an experienced IT Coordinator to join their team in Glasgow.
The Role:
The IT Coordinator will maximise the organisation's efficiency and professionalism by ensuring the best use of IT and communication systems. You will support the IT Manager in ensuring the reliability and availability of IT services to all computer users, as well as provide technical expertise in the development of policies, procedures, and strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work with the IT Manager to ensure all systems, computers, and IT equipment are in good working order and available for approved users.
2. Liaise with suppliers to deliver efficient and effective IT systems.
3. Collaborate with the main IT support provider to ensure appropriate security, disaster recovery, data protection, virus protection, and backup arrangements are in place.
4. Support the organisation's telephone systems in liaison with external providers as needed.
5. Maintain an overview of file structures and access controls.
6. Provide advice, training, and basic systems training to staff on the use of IT systems.
7. Complete and maintain accurate documentation for the IT network, including passwords, IP addresses, supplier details, and license/warranty information.
8. Contribute to the development and adherence of IT policies.
9. Support the IT Manager on ad hoc improvement projects.
10. Work closely with IT providers to ensure service level agreements and IT policies are adhered to.
A Successful IT Coordinator will have:
11. Relevant professional qualification or degree in IT theories/practices.
12. Experience in training and coaching others.
13. Experience in working with and managing external contractors.
14. Experience successfully managing projects at varying complexity levels.
15. Understanding of IT usage in the private and public sectors.
16. Knowledge of databases, preferably SQL-based.
17. Familiarity with MS Office and other standard applications.
18. Comfortable with a mixed platform of Mac and PC.
19. Familiarity with phone systems, VOIP technologies, Unix, and network engineering.
