The Opportunity
In this exciting opportunity you will be responsible for deployment of local software, updates, patches and activating the latest and greatest features for our restaurants from our global restaurant and digital platforms. You will also be accountable for the technology testing strategy and quality assurance process ensuring that testing and deployment is repeatable and ongoing continuous improvement and automation is in place.
What will my accountabilities be?
* Join the UK&I Technology leadership team in a pivotal role that fosters cross-collaboration, promotes a positive team culture, and aligns all teams with a unified strategy.
* Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Feature Activation and Quality teams, guiding them towards success.
* Enhance your leadership and coaching skills to mentor team members, supporting their career growth and development.
* Ensure robust succession planning to eliminate key person dependencies.
* Champion a high-performing, positive team culture within your team, the UK&I Tech team, and key business stakeholders.
* Lead the team responsible for the scheduling, coordinating and managing of new local product software releases.
* Oversee the UK&I technology quality assurance strategy and its execution.
* Ensure efficient and swift feature activation within our global restaurant and digital product platforms, minimizing restaurant impact.
* Effectively manage our test partners, ensuring projects are well-resourced and test environments are appropriately scheduled.
* Oversee physical and virtual test labs across the UK&I, tech seed restaurants, and piloting to ensure comprehensive testing that simulates real restaurant environments.
* Manage budgets associated with testing and that monthly utilisation is managed efficiently.
What Team will I be a part of?
You will work as part of the Deployment & Testing team which forms part of the wider Technology team for the UK&I and Global business. We are a high energy team, looking for a leader who can add their talent and personality to make us even better.

* Our Franchisees
* Global Technology colleagues in other McDonald’s markets and those working in global and segment functions.
* Our supplier partners.
* Work closely with Global tech planning in Change planning for instruction on when to activate specific features.
* Work closely with our wider Technology team on new Tech Hive initiatives for deployment and feature activation sequencing.
* Our restaurant teams of tech seed stores and pilot areas.
What background do I need to have?
An individual who understands the importance of building relationships across the business, with excellent communication, curiosity and influencing skills will do well in this role. An attention to detail, an analytical approach and the ability to quickly identify the root cause of issues will be critical to success in the role.
An individual fulfilling this role will be passionate about and demonstrate success in:
* Previous leadership experience in leading and developing a medium size team.
* Well versed in communicating and influencing at senior levels.
* Experience of delivering value through partners.
* Highly efficient in resource planning and tasks assignment.
* Knowledge of benefits and dependency mapping, risk management and resource planning.
* Excellent written/oral communication skills for reports and presentations.
* Strong presence and influence and ability to operate effectively at all levels of the business.
* Strong and demonstrated ability to build lasting relationships with key stakeholders.
* Highly proficient IT skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Jira & Confluence.
