Castle Education is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join a close-knit school community after Easter for a long-term temporary position. Position: Science Teacher Employment Type: Long-term Temporary (Easter onwards) Schedule: 3 days a week (Tuesday to Thursday) Student Age Range: 8-19 Student Group Size: Small groups of 3 or 4, possibly some one-to-one teaching School Size: Only 28 students in total As the sole Science Teacher at this unique school, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality science education to Upper KS2, KS3, and KS4 students with autism. Your responsibilities will include teaching all three sciences (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology), as well as taking on a leadership role within the science department. Responsibilities: Develop and deliver engaging science lessons tailored to the diverse learning styles of students with autism. Lead small group sessions and possibly provide one-to-one instruction as needed. Implement a differentiated curriculum to accommodate students across a wide age range and ability levels. Act as a mentor and advocate for students' academic and personal development. Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategies for supporting students with autism in the science curriculum. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification in Science Education. Experience teaching science to students with special educational needs, particularly autism. Ability to teach all three sciences (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) across Upper KS2, KS3, and KS4. Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to working with students with diverse needs. Willingness to take on a leadership role within the science department and contribute to the overall success of the school community.
