About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria is a business unit of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). Corrections Victoria's vision is ‘Safer prisons, safer people, safer communities'. Our mission is to have ‘A safer, smarter system with a skilled and supported workforce, that enables people in our care to make better decisions'. Corrections Victoria is responsible for the direction, management and operation of Victoria's prison system and Post Sentence Scheme.
About the Role
Reporting to the Prison Services Manager, the Manager, Finance, Stores & Administration is responsible for leading and managing a team in the effective delivery of and provide advice on a range of financial, accounting, budget, procurement, and administrative and business support services for the Loddon Prisons Precinct. This position will also monitor the financial performance of the Loddon Prisons Precinct and oversee and undertake financial reconciliation, reporting and analysis, including preparation of monthly and adhoc reports.
This position may require direct prisoner contact and may involve weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement.
The Manager, Finance, Stores & Administration role models the highest standards of workplace conduct and drives a culturally safe, integrity oriented and respectful workplace.
Some of your duties will include:
* Supervise, manage, and provide leadership in the quality delivery of finance, stores, administration, and business support services for the Loddon Prisons Precinct that meets agreed objectives, service delivery standards and timelines, specified budgetary outcomes, stakeholder expectations and location needs.
* Plan and prioritise the team's workload and support their ongoing training and development.
* Undertake ongoing region wide financial reconciliation, reporting and analysis including preparation of monthly budget variance reports and forecasts and adhoc financial reports as required.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Demonstrated experience in government finance, and an excellent knowledge of the application of government accounting and financial legislation, policies and processes, preferably within a state government environment (or similar).
* Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the application of the Oracle Financial System.
