What skills and experience we're looking for
A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Mead Vale Primary School and Milton Park Primary School for a clerk to the Local Governing Body (LGB). You can apply to cover both schools, or just one of the schools (please specify this in your application).
The clerk is a key contributor to the effectiveness of the LGB and works closely with the headteacher and chair of governors to ensure the smooth running and organisation of the LGB.
Previous clerking experience in the education sector would be an advantage in this role but not essential as training can be given. You will need excellent organisational skills and be proficient in IT with the ability to use a variety of applications. Strong attention to detail with good grammar and literacy skills for writing agendas and accurate minutes is essential.
The clerk is a part-time role requiring flexibility and having the availability to attend meetings in person, which are usually held on a weekday evening. The role provides an opportunity for some working from home to complete the administration elements of the role and typing up of meeting minutes. This could be an excellent opportunity if you are looking to do a few extra hours alongside your current role.
