Business Administration Apprentice
Who we are
The Greater London Authority (GLA) is the regional government of Greater London and consists of two political branches – the Mayor of London and the London Assembly. We aim to promote the social, economic, and environmental well-being of Londoners and improve quality of life in the capital through various initiatives, including transportation, arts and culture, housing, and public safety. The GLA works to ensure that London remains a vibrant, equitable, and sustainable city for everyone.
We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our apprenticeship programme at City Hall, home of the Mayor of London and the London Assembly. On offer is the chance to get hands-on experience working with one of our many and varied teams while also studying for a nationally recognised apprenticeship standard and qualification.
This business administration apprenticeship is an 18-month long opportunity. You will work in a real job role with the GLA for 80% of your working hours and study toward the apprenticeship for the remaining 20% (equivalent of 1 day a week). You will learn a range of skills, behaviours and knowledge, covering topics such as business communication, organisation, and problem solving whilst working towards a Business Administration Level 3 qualification.
You will be supported to make the most of your time with the Greater London Authority (GLA), with on and off the job training and plenty of opportunities to contribute to work across the organisation. We will expect commitment and enthusiasm, in return we promise a chance to contribute to the future of London and learn a fantastic range of skills.
An apprenticeship is a structured programme of learning, a combination of on and off the job training. On the job, an apprentice works alongside GLA staff, off the job they undertake a tailored training programme, working towards a nationally recognised level 3 qualification in Business Administration.
This role is designed for individuals who have a keen interest in public service and the workings of local government and are looking to develop their skills in a dynamic public sector environment.
Responsibilities
* Supporting various departments within the GLA and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
* Contributing to the efficiency of the organization by adding value and resolving issues as they arise.

Training and Support
* Complete a Business Administration Level 3 qualification funded by the GLA.

Progression following the apprenticeship
After you have successfully completed your apprenticeship, you will have gained valuable workplace experience and attained a professional qualification which will improve your chances of finding work either within the GLA or with another employer or help you move on to a higher-level apprenticeship elsewhere.
Working at the GLA
Working at the GLA offers you a challenging and rewarding job, as well as the chance to really improve the lives of Londoners. In return, we offer great working conditions, competitive salaries, generous annual leave and pension schemes, and more.
