What the Job Involves Supporting the Financial Planning Manager and Principal Accountant in financial system maintenance and development for budget monitoring and development, and providing guidance to Finance Business Partners. Aligning financial systems with management structures to ensure accountability and ownership are maintained, supporting annual budget production, and assisting in accounting for the Council's establishment. Undertaking annual budget review exercises and reconciling staffing establishments, ensuring accurate reflection in financial systems. Monitoring grant income, maintaining budget virement monitor, preparing financial statistical returns, and supporting financial reporting to Cabinet. Taking responsibility for financial models and the council’s budget monitoring process as per the POA grade, managing the production of the budget book, and representing the finance expertise internally and externally. Maintaining up-to-date working knowledge of the Authority's financial systems and supporting colleagues in accessing and interpreting financial information effectively. Providing assistance in response to Internal and External Audit investigations and reports, while undertaking project work as directed, and supporting the roll forward of Oracle Cloud Planning and Budgeting solutions.
