EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
We have two positions available within the Performance Insight Analyst team. It is key that you are a person with a passion for Customer and Operational Excellence, using your love of analytics and innate curiosity to present your findings and recommendations. Waste Networks is an exciting and fascinating area of the business which has gone through large scale transformation. Combining your knowledge and expertise with large and varied datasets provides a great opportunity to drive continuous improvement of our KPIs and Outcome Delivery Incentives (ODIs) across the network.
You’ll be valued as a trusted expert, bringing additional value to our data. Working with others’ innovative ideas and hypotheses to drive actionable insight, you will be responsible for empowering the business to make the right decisions and improve performance.
Working with other members of the Data & Analytics team, you'll help create a compelling narrative and visualisations for your ideas/projects. You’ll work with other technical experts across the Operation and wider business, utilising advanced data interrogation, extraction & manipulation skills, to support deep-dive analyses. This role offers you the opportunity to work with many key stakeholders and will allow you to showcase your talents within an energised and transforming environment.
Some of your other key accountabilities will include:
* Have a detailed understanding of Waste Customer Network's processes and rules to develop a deep understanding of what drivers underpin performance, across a wide and varied suite of metrics.
* Use the output from the suite of reports and data marts to monitor key performance indicators and identify & quantify risks/opportunities.
* Own and manage the insight cycle, which includes: the creation of insight hypotheses; managing the prioritisation of insight & ad-hoc requests process; interrogating and determining the right supporting data to use; presentation of clear findings and the delivery of recommended next steps and actions.
* Provide compelling narrative for our weekly and monthly performance reporting, management information packs, and other presentations and reports as required.
* Work with other members of the team to support predictive modelling of performance and trends analysis to provide a clearer view of the future through performance forecasting.
* Delivering an excellent level of insight into performance data, not just presenting this to the business but turning this into practical application and influencing the business to drive and deliver the opportunities.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We are looking for a candidate who doesn’t take data at face value but looks deeper to understand the "why" as well as the "what" to help provide a view of "what will be". We want you to use your passion for creative problem solving to dive into performance data to create new insight and fuel change within the area. Analytical experience/ demonstrable experience of using data and information to drive insight and improvement would be desirable.
You must be naturally curious, motivated and action orientated with great communication skills, to take ideas and improvements all the way through to delivery. Having previous experience analysing complex data and getting to the key facts/insight to deliver performance improvement will be required for the role.
You’ll be presenting to a wide range of audiences and influencing different teams to gain support and buy in, so it is expected that you have skills in building relationships, gaining credibility and ongoing stakeholder management at all levels. You’ll need excellent attention to detail with the ability to quickly understand processes in relation to data and in relation to the bigger picture. Strong technical knowledge of waste processes, operational environments and working in a regulated environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity, and a caring attitude we want to talk to you too.
We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involved. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care. Is that you?
