Bows & Arrows runs seven nurseries, all located in the town of Ipswich, Suffolk. We are an established, reputable, not-for-profit company who are looking to recruit a Deputy Nursery Manager for Buttons and Bows Nursery on Aster Road, Chantry. Buttons and Bows is an 'Outstanding' rated nursery with 72 places for babies, toddlers, and preschool aged children. Reporting to the Nursery Manager, you will help lead a team of approximately 26 practitioners and ensure excellent outcomes for children attending the nursery. This team includes a group of skilled and knowledgeable educators, with strong teaching practices, 1 existing deputy and 3 talented Senior Early Years Educators working across the setting.
We are particularly looking for an individual to focus on expanding, developing and maintaining our high quality of teaching and learning. We would like someone to work alongside the manager to drive quality through the setting to continue to provide exceptional outcomes for children in our care.
Some of your tasks will include:
* Supporting the Nursery Manager with the planning, delivery and monitoring of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
* Completing room and peer observations.
* Mentoring and coaching staff.
* Suggesting, planning and supporting delivery of projects for improvement.
* Working with the Nursery Manager to be compliant with legislation, company policy & procedure.
* Acting as the dedicated person for Safeguarding in the Manager's absence.
* Leading a team of practitioners with day-to-day tasks such as absence, holidays, training, performance & supervisions where required.
* Working directly within rooms to support room leaders and children.
You must hold at least a level 3 qualification in early years and have a solid understanding of the following:
* The theory of child development.
* Content of the Early Years Framework.
* Age & stage appropriate behaviours.
* Safeguarding.
* SEN.
* Health & Safety in relation to a setting & its risk assessments.
