Job Title : Consultant Psychiatrist – Eating Disorders Salary: £145,000 – £160,000 per annum Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time Available Job Overview: A leading private mental health hospital is recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist to work in its specialist inpatient and outpatient eating disorder unit. The service provides treatment for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and other complex eating disorders. Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will diagnose and manage eating disorders with associated psychiatric comorbidities such as depression, anxiety, and OCD. You will work with dietitians, psychologists, and family therapists to develop multi-modal treatment plans. Additionally, you will oversee nasogastric feeding plans and refeeding protocols for high-risk patients, participate in family-based therapy (FBT) and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT-E) programs, conduct mental capacity assessments and risk evaluations, and contribute to research and specialist training programs in the field of eating disorders. Requirements: GMC registration with a CCT in General Adult Psychiatry, CAMHS, or Eating Disorder Psychiatry. Extensive experience in eating disorder treatment pathways and multidisciplinary care models. Strong ability to manage medical complications related to malnutrition and refeeding syndrome.
