Full-time Description Engineering Technician – Electrical Apprentice G&H Torquay Here at G&H Torquay we manufacture a line of active and passive fiber optic components and modules offer the performance and reliability required for some of the most demanding and challenging applications in the world. We are currently recruiting for several apprentices to start in September 2025, more information on how to apply below. As an engineering apprentice at G&H Torquay you will have a unique opportunity to study and work in parallel in a dynamic and innovative environment. In partnership with South Devon College, you will spend 4 years working closely with our engineering team while complimenting your workplace experience with a mixture of theoretical and practical lessons. As you progress through our apprenticeship program you will learn about and contribute to the varied disciplines within fibre optics manufacturing while building upon your own skill set to enable the start of your career in engineering. Our apprenticeship program offers a structured and varied learning experience, providing you with the opportunity to acquire, refine and apply valuable technical and inter-personal skills employed in fibre optics engineering. You will receive mentorship and guidance from industry professionals, allowing you to grow and develop your expertise. During the four years other, additional training and development, personal and technical will be offered as required and where appropriate. About you: We would ideally like to hear from candidates who have Maths, English and Science above a grade 4, but this is not essential. You will be a self-driven individual, who is creative, inquisitive, reliable and honest. We would like you to have the ability to form, build and maintain good peer relationships, and have an interest in technology and engineering.
