Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant Location: Bournemouth, Dorset Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only (with possible permanent contract) About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive school in Bournemouth. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a variety of learning needs, ensuring they have the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with special educational needs. Assist in the delivery of differentiated learning activities and tasks. Support students with personal care or medical needs, where required. Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive engagement. Collaborate with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Monitor students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/carers. Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment. Key Requirements: Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, is desirable. A patient, empathetic, and caring attitude. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to be flexible and adapt to the varying needs of students. Knowledge of SEN provisions, including autism, dyslexia, and other learning difficulties, would be an advantage. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential. Why Join Us?
