An exciting opportunity to lead our Specialist Back and Neck Service has become available. We are seeking a highly skilled, passionate, experienced clinician possessing advanced practice qualifications and management skills to become a central part of our leadership team. You will be working within a dynamic group of clinicians and supporting service colleagues to shape and deliver spinal services to complex patients. This is an ideal opportunity to utilise your leadership and specialist clinical skills in assessment and management of spinal pathology.
You will work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team with spinal and pain consultants in the management of a complex chronic and sub-acute back and neck pain caseload.
The full-time role is based across Suffolk, and there is flexibility with regard to working location within Suffolk.

Job responsibilities
Clinical
1. 0.8 WTE of advanced practice spinal assessment clinical duties, including MDT.
2. Maintain clinical competency in themselves and the BANS team.
3. Offer expert clinical opinion to the wider company.
Operational/Leadership
1. 0.2 WTE leadership and management duties.
2. Review and manage BANS performance in line with company objectives and contractual KPIs.
3. Participate as a member of the leadership team and participate in other associated meetings as required.
4. Manage patient experience in the BANS service, including managing complaints, claims, and other patient feedback.
5. Offer supervision and leadership to the BANS team and other clinical colleagues as needed.
6. Attend relevant local, regional, or national meetings and forums in line with the company objectives and strategy.
7. Identify, plan, introduce, and evaluate service development and quality improvement.
Research
1. Embed and maintain a culture of evidence-based treatment in the BANS team and more widely in the organisation.
2. Participate in research activities with the wider team, including (but not limited to) audit, service evaluation, literature reviews, case studies, etc.

Person Specification
Knowledge
* Extensive specialist clinical experience and knowledge in relationship to speciality.
* Evidence of recent study in relevant clinical area.
* Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice.
* Demonstrate understanding and involvement of clinical governance and risk assessment.
* Broad knowledge of health legislation.
* Knowledge of current NHS, Health Education England, professional and educational issues.
Qualifications
* Clinician with relevant professional governing body registration (e.g., Physiotherapist, Osteopath, etc).
* MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent.
* Significant post qualification experience (minimum 5 Years) in Musculoskeletal and Spinal specialist roles.
* Membership of appropriate special interest group.
* CSP Member.
Skills & Abilities
* Evidence of both theoretical and practical skills and competency in patient management advanced clinical practice and clinical reasoning skills to an advanced practice level in musculoskeletal and spinal Physiotherapy.
* Able to critique research and information and implement relevant findings to own practice.

* Experience of audit, service evaluation, service development and/or quality improvement.
* Experience of lecturing externally.
* Evidence of involvement in change management.
