We are currently looking for a Programme Delivery Manager to join our Clinical Practice Research Datalink team in the Safety and Surveillance group.
This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.
Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites.
We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 8 days per month working on site to enable collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 12 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.

The new Safety and Surveillance Group brings together into a single integrated structure devices and medicines safety expertise with enforcement capabilities. In addition to supporting high quality observational research, CPRD has developed world leading services based on using real world data to support clinical trials and interventional studies.

The Programme Delivery Manager will possess leadership skills and programme management expertise to lead on the delivery of novel data access and platforms for CPRD’s interventional and observational research services based on unrivalled access to real world population health data. The post holder is responsible for delivering a programme of work from conceptual planning to post release operationalisation. Responsibilities include supporting the director and senior management team of CPRD by overseeing the delivery of their vision for the programme; managing dependencies of varying complexity and planning and feeding into larger programmes and portfolios; removing blockers and managing risks, commercials, budgets, and people.

* Support the continuous improvement of products and services and people management.
Who are we looking for?
Our successful candidate will:
* Have a degree in either a computer science, an information technology-based subject, or significant experience managing the delivery of multiple parallel systems, products, or services.
* Have experience in optimising the delivery flow of teams, actively addressing the most complicated risks, issues and dependencies including where ownership exists outside the team or no clear ownership exists.
* Have demonstrable experience in coaching and leading teams in Agile and Lean practices, recognised as an expert that advocates these approaches, continuously reflecting and challenging the team.
* Have a demonstrable record of being able to solve and unblock issues between teams or departments at the highest level, understanding the psychology of the team and can give examples of having strong mediation skills.
* Be able to communicate with others in a clear, honest, and enthusiastic way to build trust and explain complex issues in a way that is easy to understand.
