A forward-thinking engineering consultancy is currently recruiting for a Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their ground and environmental team in Northamptonshire. This full-time, permanent position involves working on diverse ground investigation and environmental assessment projects across the UK, with a strong mix of both fieldwork and office-based responsibilities.The successful candidate will have the chance to grow their technical skills within a collaborative team that supports projects in residential, industrial, and infrastructure development sectors.Position OverviewTake an active role in planning and executing ground investigation works, including sampling and onsite data collectionLog and assess geological materials in accordance with current best practicesCoordinate with contractors and subcontractors during field operationsAssist in compiling technical reports including contamination assessments, interpretive findings, and desk-based studiesTravel to project sites (predominantly within a two-hour radius), with occasional overnight stays when requiredSupport senior engineering staff on project documentation, safety procedures, and client communicationsCandidate RequirementsHolds a relevant degree in Earth Sciences, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related fieldHas at least 2 years of relevant industry experience in geotechnical or environmental fieldwork and reportingFamiliar with soil and rock logging, environmental sampling, and lab schedulingExcellent written communication skills, especially in preparing technical documentsCompetent with standard office software; exposure to logging or GIS platforms is an advantageMust have a valid UK driving licence and be willing to travel as part of the roleAdaptable, practical, and capable of working in outdoor environments throughout the yearSalary & BenefitsSalary range: £30,000 - £36,000, depending on experienceField-based bonus payments for daily travel and overnight stays25 days of paid annual leave in addition to bank holidaysPension scheme with employer contributionsOpportunities for CPD, technical workshops, and structured career developmentBroad exposure to multidisciplinary projects and high-profile clientsThis is an excellent opportunity for a geo-environmental professional seeking a new challenge within a growing consultancy.
