Carmichael UK are seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to join a tier 1 Ground Engineering team, as part of the Sizewell Project. This role is hybrid between Sizewell C and London office work. As a Senior Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the financial and commercial management of the portfolio of Ground Engineering works sub-contract at Sizewell C from inception, tendering, negotiating, and agreeing contracts and commercially delivering the Project. You will be an integral part of the project senior leadership team where they hold key responsibilities associated with the commercial and financial success of the project. This role is broad and includes anything from risk management to procurement financial reporting and managing the supply chain. Key Roles: Understanding of disputes resolution including options, structure, techniques, experts etc. Application of legislation and ability to liaise with legal experts. Manage preparation of Estimates & Tender submissions including the interpretation of specifications & preambles Representation of the financial and contractual interests to the employer and/or client in progress meetings Co-ordination of buying, accounts, production control/planning, supply chain management & procurement techniques, estimating & surveying functions. Management and reporting of Commercial Risk and Opportunity. Management of disallowed cost Provide commercial input to Buildability and Value Engineering reviews. Review tenders & cost data. Co-ordinate the commercial team to ensure programme issues are identified and actioned. Report and explain the commercial aspects to sub contractor CM. Manage the preparation and articulation of the monthly CVR and associated commercial reports. Manage the feedback of commercial data to Planning, Estimating, Marketing and Sales Lead commercial aspects with Customer and stakeholders. Establish client supply chain requirements & advise on alternative forms of contract & procurement arrangements. Formulation and management of plans for resource procurement. About You: An ability to see bigger picture and prioritise business opportunities. Understands how economic factors that affects the construction industry, with an understanding of disputes resolution. BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent Membership or Fellowship of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards) CSCS Card (Professional Qualified Person) Salary is dependent on experience Package includes 25 days annual leave, pension, smart working and more
