Support Time and Recovery Worker

Job overview
We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate Band 4 Support Time Recovery Worker to join our dedicated team at the Cambridge Adult Locality Team.
The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting individuals with severe mental health challenges, and possess a strong understanding of community mental health services. You will work closely with service users, providing recovery-focused interventions, offering practical assistance, and helping to resolve problems, all under the guidance of a senior team member.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will support service users with their recovery journeys through collaborative goal setting with a range of priority health and social needs under the supervision of a senior member of the team.
Help to identify early signs of relapse by monitoring the user’s progress, level of functioning and mental state and alert the appropriate staff involved in the individual's care.
Will participate within the multi-disciplinary professional team to deliver safe person-centred care focussing on collaborative therapeutic relationships. This will include social inclusion work.
Maintain adequate records as required by existing procedures, entering appropriate details on the service user’s case notes as necessary.
Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have use of a vehicle. You cannot use public transport for this role as this is not a reliable form of transport and will not allow you to meet service needs. Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* To work with service users to primarily provide recovery focused psychologically and OT based interventions through ongoing support, practical assistance, and problem resolution under the supervision of a senior team member. To contribute to the regular reviews of service users in the team.
* To participate within the multi-disciplinary professional team to deliver safe person-centred care focussing on collaborative therapeutic relationships. This will include social inclusion work.
* To work in partnership with families and carers to ensure the patient’s individual health needs are met.
Person specification
Education/Qualification
* GCSE’s grade A-C (including Maths and English)
* Training in mental health or social care
* NVQ level 4
Experience
* Experience of working with people with mental health difficulties
* Previous experience of working in a health or social care setting, either statutory or non-statutory service
* Previous work with people suffering with serious mental distress
* Experience of working with service users in a community setting
Skills & Abilities
* Ability to work as part of an MDT
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to extend compassion and empathy for vulnerable people, advocating on their behalf as required
* Basic understanding of the interface between health/social care/housing/education/criminal justice services and a commitment to overcoming potential barriers
* Good understanding of the difficulties faced by people experiencing mental health problems
* An awareness of the principles of social inclusion
