This is an exciting opportunity to join our skin cancer team and to support the development of our surgical and faster diagnosis pathways. This is a new pathway recently established and the team are constantly looking at additional ways to improve the patient experience.
There will be the opportunity to receive training in dermatology so that the role can also work with our general dermatology team in supporting their cohort of patients.
STAFF CAR PARKING
Staff Car Parking on the West Suffolk Hospital Site is eligible for individuals working outside of the core hours, 07:00 - 18:30. For individuals working within the core hours, the Trust offers parking off site at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus to and from the Hospital. Details of the bus timetable can be found in the on-line starter pack on the West Suffolk Hospital website. This parking restriction does not apply if an individual is required to work on a weekend or if they are required to complete "on call" duties within their role.
Main duties of the job
Job summary:
1. To be a skilled practitioner in dermatology and act as a resource for patients and other health care professionals.
2. To participate in the direct access to surgery element of the Skin Analytics pathway.
3. To support the Dermatology CNS team in provision of biologic treatments and dermatology/skin cancer clinics (F2F and telephone).
4. To collate and submit research & audit data as relevant.

Person Specification
Education and qualifications
* 1st level NMC Registered Nurse
* Educated to a degree level or working towards ENB 988 or equivalent
* Experience in general dermatology/skin cancer and/or direct access pathways
Experience and knowledge
* At least 3 years post registration experience
* Knowledge of change management process
* Ability to develop nursing excellence and clinical practice
* Experience in information technology, audit and setting clinical standards.
* Initiation & evaluation of research-based practice
* Managerial responsibility

* Understanding the issues affecting Dermatology/cancer nursing and/or biologic treatment
* Excellent organisational skills
