As a Quality Engineer, you will ensure quality engineering requirements are identified, communicated, and applied to all relevant areas of the business. You will continually develop and improve quality engineering processes and procedures, the result of which will contribute to a high performing team.
What Youll Be Doing
* Create and review Quality records / document packs (e.g. MITPs).
* Compile & review inspection data.
* Review & process / dispositioning MRBs.
* Process Customer Concessions and Technical Queries.
* Plan rework / rectification activities.
* Produce and roll out Quality Alerts & Toolbox Talks.
* Distribute Quality information throughout the business.
* Liaise with customers / suppliers on Quality related matters.
* Compile and review data to identify trends and help establish effective countermeasures (e.g. Pareto Analysis, SPC).
* Lead Quality Investigations to establish effective Root Cause / Corrective Actions (e.g. 8Ds, 3C, Brainstorming, 5 Whys).
* Lead process capability studies such as PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis) and MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis).
* Support Pre-Contract Review and Lessons Learned sessions.
* Compile and Monitor KPIs.
* Carry out quality audits, identifying non-compliance & opportunities for improvement (OFIs).
* Create & review SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
* Carry out QA Release of product.
* Support Operations with Quality related matters (e.g. First Off process, documentation, new product introduction, removing waste / improving efficiencies).
* Lead & drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. PPS projects).
* You may be required to perform additional tasks and responsibilities in line with the needs of the business.
Who Were Looking For
We ask that you have a recognised engineering apprenticeship or an equivalent qualification such as an HNC; ideally in a Quality related subject but this is not essential.
With an appreciation of Quality Management Systems (QMS), we are looking for someone familiar with the requirements of Quality Standards such as ISO 9001 & AS9100; as well as the ability to interpret customer specifications & requirements and engineering drawings (including GD&T and datum structures, CMM reports, inspection data and associated specifications). You will be conversant with business improvement tools & techniques (e.g. PPS, Six Sigma, PDCA cycle) and be able to deliver results in line with business deadlines.
With the ability to work under pressure, with a flexible approach to work, we are looking for someone who can work alone as well as someone who can work as part of a team. Interfacing with other departments, suppliers, contractors, and manufacturers is a key part of the role.
