About the Role
Our client, a leading engineering solutions provider, is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with PCS 7 and Batch expertise to join their team in Cheshire. This role involves programming, configuring, and optimising PCS 7 control systems for batch processing applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Siemens PCS 7, extensive experience in batch process automation, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop, configure, and commission Siemens PCS 7 control systems for batch processing applications.
2. Design, implement, and troubleshoot PCS 7 Batch automation solutions.
3. Work closely with process engineers and project teams to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions.
4. Modify and optimise existing PCS 7 control systems for improved efficiency and reliability.
5. Provide support during system commissioning, testing, and validation phases.
6. Ensure all automation systems comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
7. Document automation processes, software changes, and technical specifications.
Key Requirements
1. Extensive experience in Siemens PCS 7 programming, including Batch process automation.
2. Strong knowledge of automation control strategies, software architecture, and HMI/SCADA development within PCS 7.
3. Experience in process industries, such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, or food & beverage.
4. Ability to interpret P&IDs, functional design specifications, and control narratives.
5. Familiarity with GAMP, GMP, and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance (preferred but not essential).
6. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Contract Details
Location: Cheshire (Onsite up to 3 days per week)
Contract Type: Outside IR35
Rate: Negotiable, based on experience
