The Recruitment Co are currently working with the Belfast Trust to recruit for a Band 2 Clerical Officer based in Musgrave Hospital.
Job Summary / Main Purpose
The post holder will provide typing and administrative support to the Orthopaedic Ward and undertake administrative duties as directed by Team Lead.
Main Duties / Responsibilities
Retrieve and track patient case notes and X-ray/test results from the filing room, other offices, and other hospitals as required.
* Answering telephone and taking messages and enquiries from GP’s, patients, and other health service staff, and action when appropriate.
* File and maintain records in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
* Printing and photocopying correspondence and other documentation as directed.
* Checking stock levels e.g. stationery, booklets, and leaflets and ensuring more supplies are ordered if required.
* Preparation of charts for ward rounds, file investigations, amalgamate old notes.
* Collect patient charts, process charts to admin staff for dictation of letters.
* Ensure all patients to ward are admitted and discharged accurately on PAS/Patient Centre.
* District Nurse Referrals.
* Bed Stats.
* Ordering of transport.
* Ensure supplies of admission packs are maintained.
* Liaise with other medical records staff and staff in other departments.
* Any other duties assigned from time to time.

Minimum Requirements
* 4 GCSEs at Grades C or above (to include English Language) or equivalent.
* 1 year's experience in a clerical / administrative role.
* Experience in the use of at least one Microsoft Office product or equivalent.
* Ability to work as part of a Team.
* Ability to use own initiative.
* Good organisational skills with an ability to prioritise own workload.
* Effective communication skills to meet the needs of the post in full.
