Engineering Technician - Tyne and Wear
Overview
We are seeking an Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics testing and optics engineering and will play a vital role in supporting our engineering department and conduct on-site installation, service and support activities for worldwide customers.
Responsibilities
Conduct electrical, electronic and mechanical testing and troubleshooting of new and existing products
Assist in the assembly and calibration of optical systems
Collaborate with engineers to develop and improve testing procedures
Maintain accurate records of test results and equipment calibration
Support the design and implementation of optical and electronic prototypes
Help in the development and improvement of test fixtures and equipment
Qualifications
A qualification in engineering, electronics or a science based subject to a minimum of ONC level
Proven experience in electronics testing and troubleshooting
Familiarity with optical systems and components
Proficiency in using electronic test equipment
Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to quality standards
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Overseas travel to support our global install base
