We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Pharmacy Procurement and Homecare Medicines team as a Senior Administration and Clerical Technical Officer. This position is a permanent static homecare post however there may be times where other elements of the procurement service will need to be covered in line with workload.
The previous experience we are looking for is as follows:
* Previous experience with invoice/credit processing and worked with finance issues
* Word processing
* Using Excel spreadsheets / Experience of inputting and manipulating data into reporting databases
* Interpreting reports/statements
* Experience of evaluating and translating information from a variety of sources
* Experience of communicating with suppliers/customers over the phone
* Problem solving
* Good organisational skills
Main duties of the job
Homecare Medicine services are a method of allowing patients to receive treatment within their own home via third-party providers. This can reduce hospital attendances and improve patient independence. The successful candidate will support the processing of Homecare Medicine prescriptions.
The individual will be required to liaise with the 3rd party homecare providers and clinical teams to ensure timely receipt of medicines. They will also be expected to support the monitoring and maintenance of the Pharmacy Tracking system to ensure prescriptions can be identified. The post holder will also contribute to organizing the workflow to ensure orders and invoices are processed in a timely manner. There will also be a requirement to liaise with the procurement team to support functions of that service if required on an ad-hoc basis including any projects or initiatives to improve the current service we provide.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential:
* 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English - and NVQ2 in Pharmaceutical Services OR 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English - and NVQ2 or equivalent qualification(s) in an area relevant to the role and a willingness to work towards NVQ2 in Pharmaceutical Services Plus Standard keyboard skills and knowledge of software programmes including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Desirable:
* CIPs level 2 or equivalent relevant qualification i.e. finance/admin.
* NVQ3 Business administration or equivalent relevant qualification.
* Advanced keyboard skills and ability to produce and manipulate spreadsheets.
Experience Essential:
* At least 2 years' experience in a similar role.
* Previous experience with invoice/credit processing and working with finance issues.
* Word processing.
Desirable:
* At least 2 years' experience working within the NHS.
* Previous experience of working within a pharmacy setting.
Skills, Ability & Knowledge Essential:
* Ability to use Excel spreadsheets / Experience of inputting and manipulating data into reporting databases.
* Interpreting reports and statements.
* Ability to confidently communicate with suppliers via telephone/email and directly with all members of healthcare teams and members of the public.
* Ability to work unsupervised and alone within departmental guidelines/SOPs.
Desirable:
* Previous experience of dealing with customers and difficult queries.
