We have an exciting opportunity to join a well renowned institution as a Software Asset Manager. The Software Asset Manager optimises the organisation's software portfolio, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and regulations. They track software usage, manage licenses, and implement strategies to minimise costs while maximising the efficiency of software assets.
Responsibilities:
1. The Software Asset Manager proactively oversees the team's day-to-day activities, ensuring the delivery of effective services to the organisation.
2. Ensure full compliance with software licensing agreements and regulatory requirements to minimise legal and financial risks.
3. Maintain strict oversight, ensuring the team keeps an up-to-date inventory of software assets, including licenses, versions, and usage across the organisation.
4. Identify cost-saving opportunities by optimising license usage, negotiating favourable agreements, and eliminating unnecessary licenses.
5. Regularly engage with software vendors to negotiate contracts, clarify licensing terms, and stay informed about updates or changes to licensing models.
6. Develop and implement organisational policies and procedures related to software acquisition, deployment, and usage.
7. Conduct regular audits to ensure software usage aligns with licensing agreements and complies with organisational policies.
8. Proactively identify and mitigate compliance and security risks associated with software usage.
9. Provide guidance and training to employees on software usage policies and best practices to ensure compliance.
10. Oversee the entire life cycle of software assets, from acquisition to retirement, including proper disposal and data security measures.
11. Generate detailed reports and maintain accurate documentation on software usage, license status, and compliance for management and audit purposes.
12. Collaborate with Finance and IT teams to develop budgets for software expenses and provide forecasts based on future needs and usage trends.
