Project Manager
Location - RCN UK HQ, 35 hours per week, FTC until Oct 2025
Salary range - £47745 - £53934 plus inner London - £5,094 per annum

As a Project Manager, you will work closely with the HR/Finance Transformation Programme Manager within our Transformation Practice. We need a Project Manager to help deliver the HR/Finance Transformation Programme. We are looking for a Project Manager that can bring more to the role than just administration of projects. You'll need a keen eye for managing the change processes, being innovative and bringing together self-organising teams to deliver at pace and at scale. You'll need great practical project management skills and the ability to adapt your style to a variety of stakeholders. We never lose sight of our highest priority: supporting nurses, midwives, nursing support workers and students working together to advance our profession. The person
We know that planning and facilitation is what makes projects successful and turns good teams into great teams. As a key member of the Transformation and Innovation Department, you will be expected to support, encourage and inspire teams across the RCN to make sure we deliver the right change in the right way. The successful incumbent will bring with them the prior experience of working in fast-paced project environments, with experience in deploying HR/Finance systems being advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee multiple project workstreams (change, technical deployment, etc.), ensuring alignment throughout the project timeline.
2. Ensure execution in accordance with the global design principles.
3. Manage project team meetings and provide direction to the project team.
4. Liaise with stakeholders to support managing dependencies and expectations.
5. Manage the project plan and RAID log.
6. Present & report project progress to the HR/Finance Transformation Delivery Programme Manager and Project Board, escalating risks, issues and change requests where required.
7. Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
8. In all internal and external contact, present a professional and positive image of the programme and the company maintaining mutually constructive, positive and beneficial relationships.
Skills & Attributes
1. Has experience in HR/Payroll (iTrent) implementation Project Management.
2. Can demonstrate experience of using Microsoft Project.
3. Can demonstrate experience of managing tasks & sprints using Azure Dev Ops.
4. Experience in project managing HR and Finance enabled projects.
5. Has a PRINCE2 or equivalent qualification.
6. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
7. Knowledge of HR/Finance processes and best practices.
8. Demonstrable record of managing project teams.
9. Takes personal responsibility to deliver results.
10. Able to quickly build relationships, through communication and collaboration, with both the project team and a variety of stakeholders.
11. Can effectively collaborate, support, and give direction to drive results.
12. Can anticipate stakeholder needs and can effectively problem solve to meet the requirements of both the business and the RCN strategy.
